Service management as a profession is often overlooked alongside more familiar job choices. As the function that manages the delivery of IT services (and increasingly other business services) to customers, it attracts individuals from a range of backgrounds, developing their knowledge and expertise in such areas as change enablement, incident and problem management, service design, knowledge and supplier management, all with the overriding objective of improving service delivery.
There are many routes into service management, and a wide range of options for those who choose it as a career direction. But where do you start? How transferable are your current skills to the service management world? And what opportunities and challenges are you likely to face in a career in service management?
This evening seminar, free to attend and devised and led by members of the IT Service Management Forum (itSMF UK), aims to answer these questions and help you make a start in service management.
To all experienced ITSM professionals: please share this invitation with friends and family who are new to service management, to help explain why we consider our profession an excellent career choice.
