Please join us for our next face-to-face itSMF member meet up scheduled hosted by BT in Manchester. During the session, we will be focusing on the value and importance of aligning with external standards.
Whether it’s formal ISO standards, Axelos’ ITIL® maturity framework, Cyber Essentials, or Service Desk Institute’s certification, the same question often arises: Is there a benefit?
Our main emphasis will be on sharing real user stories. We will explore why they pursued these standards, who was involved, what actions they took, lessons they learned, and, of course, the value of maintaining the accreditation.

Nicci will share their experience of navigating the Axelos ITIL® Maturity assessment and Service Desk Institutes’ (SDI) Service Desk Certification.
11:45 – Session 2: Richard Horton – National Institute for Health Research
Richard will discuss the Clinical Research Network Coordinating Centre’s journey towards achieving ISO27001 accreditation and their subsequent Cyber Essentials implementation with its impact on the service management experience.

13:15 – Session 3: Barry Corless – CGI
Barry will provide the perspective of an auditor, drawing from his experiences conducting SDI/ITIL audits and helping a healthcare start-up obtain ISO27001 certification during the pandemic.
