Community of Practice – Strategy and Planning Meeting

itSMF UK’s Communities of Practice (CoPs) provide the opportunity to bring together like-minded professionals to focus on areas of common interest. Our CoPs allow members to explore new ideas, challenge and discuss Service Management principles, practices, toolsets and frameworks.  If you have not heard of the Communities of Practice before or have yet to formally volunteer for a specific group, please click here for additional information.

Meeting Agenda

Our Community has set a full agenda of interesting topics, following on from the work to establish a Catalogue of Framework, Standards and Bodies of Knowledge.  Of the three prioritised topics, it has been agreed that we will start with Service Strategy and Culture which aligns well with our Community Terms of Reference and Charter.  Service Strategy and Culture is a big topic so will be covered in the next two sessions.

This first session will look at where to start with defining a Service Strategy, including how to align this with the current business strategy, current state assessments of culture and service practices/resources/architecture and how to review emerging trends.  Tips from those who have defined a Service Strategy will be covered. This includes service architecture and service roadmap contents, and how to bring all levels of stakeholder on the journey with us.

The second session will also be shaped, with a view to producing a Community document or presentation as output for use by the itSMF Membership.

Through these discussions some good practice guidance and materials will be produced for itSMF UK members to use. It is expected that the Strategy and Planning CoP will also present at ITSM2021 using some or all of this content.
