itSMF UK’s Communities of Practice (CoPs) provide the opportunity to bring together like-minded professionals to focus on areas of common interest. Our CoPs allow members to explore new ideas, challenge and discuss Service Management principles, practices, toolsets and frameworks. Initially there will be three Communities, that number may be flexed and expanded as the needs of the itSMF UK member community demands.
If you have not heard of the Communities of Practice before or have yet to formally volunteer for a specific group, please click here for additional information.
As the second meeting for this Community of Practice, there are some early items of business to cover. This includes agreeing the proposed CoP Terms of Reference and the Charter Statement for this Community of Practice.
Then it gets more exciting as we will review and discuss the topics and themes that the Strategy and Planning Community of Practice will prioritise to develop good practice guidance on. Some initial topics were suggested at the kick off meeting in March. The challenge is to prioritise what is an interesting list down to 2 or 3 priority topics for the Community to focus on. These topics will be used to develop guidance including white papers and presentations for both the Community and the wider itSMF UK membership to benefit from.
Examples of the topics include an overview of the many ITSM frameworks which could be used with a summary of their coverage and target audience. Another topic is how to get engagement and buy in for the creation and adoption of a Service Strategy at all levels, including the cultural change it will entail.
The call for speakers for the ITSM 2021 Conference has been responded to on behalf of this community, and we’ll discuss the topic and who can develop and deliver the presentation and session at Conference. This is an ideal opportunity to promote the Community and experience delivering a Conference presentation first hand.
This event will be delivered using Microsoft Teams.
This event is FREE for all itSMF UK members.
