Online Masterclass – Lean IT
November 11, 2021, 9:30 am - 4:30 pm
Think of this word? What does it mean to you? How does it make you feel? Slim, decreasing waistline, ability to move quickly, improve yourself or your business repeatedly? If these are your thoughts, then you appreciate why Daniel Jones and Jim Womack chose this word in the ‘90s to describe what they had learned from the works of Demming, Goldratt, and Toyota. They had no idea that lean would become today’s pervasive movement, with thousands of organisations benefiting from the value, practices, and principles.
IT Service Management
Now consider the phrase “IT Service Management? IT helps organisations create, support, and improve their services and products, which I hope springs to mind. Very lean, isn’t it? ITSM takes advantage of Lean in every practice of helping technology teams, leaders, and suppliers use technology in unique ways:
- Lead at every level by coaching and helping
- Visualise work to help improve it
- Have metrics that matter and align work to the organisations’ customers
- Obtain feedback as often as possible
- Fix first, deliver often
- And more
This event is aimed at the Beginner/Intermediate level. Facilitated by Daniel Breston who has over 50 years of international technology leadership, consulting, and coaching. Daniel learned Lean IT under the guidance of Steve Bell and Mike Orzen (authors of LeanIT, Dr. Michael Balle (Lean Leadership Sensei), Jez Humble (DevOps) and others. More importantly, Daniel has practiced lean for the last decade in a variety of situations. This event is designed for ITSM professionals interested in or actively involved in improvement and change initiatives. This will particularly interest those who wish to gain a better understanding of key Lean IT principles and techniques.
What will it involve?
- Lean: history, value, principles
