itSMF UK’s Special Interest Groups provide a unique opportunity to bring together like-minded professionals to focus on areas of common interest. SIGS allow members to explore new ideas, conduct research and develop new ITSM guidance on specific topics in areas such as service transition, service design, problem management and service integration.
New Focus Days
Our new Focus Days take a more agile approach to SIG activity. Each SIG Focus Day will take a chosen topic and pull together the collected wisdom of those who come. You don’t have to be a formal member of a SIG to participate and you don’t have to do more than turn up for the one day. So if the subject interests you and you want to contribute, do get involved. If you only have limited time to spare, this could be what you are looking for. We just ask that you come prepared to contribute as we shape new ideas and often deliver new content, which is made available to other members shortly after the day.
The next SIG Focus Days will be led by our current SIG Chairs – Andy Turner of Leidos, Jon Morley of the Dept of Education, Tony Oxley of Atos Syntel and Suzanne Slatter of Sopra Steria .
- Tony and Suzanne are joining forces for the first one on 6th June which looks at The Impact of a Customer Experience Focus on Service Design (or What happens when CX means the SDP).
- On 4th July, Andy Turner will be running a SIAM SIG day in Birmingham, working with the SMART City Alliance to apply SIAM models to SMART City problem statements
- On 24th July Jon Morley will be facilitating an event on Transitioning Agile Projects into Service – why not be part of this exciting exploration of agile service management?
Spaces are very limited for the June event , so please register ASAP if you are interested.
We’ll be looking to set up more of these Focus Days for the autumn. If you would like to be involved in running them, helping to work out what will be of value to our membership, there’s always room for more SIG Chairs.
