Our popular Armed Forces Community of Practice has been renamed to reflect a broader remit. Updating members on the Community page, new CoP Chair Simon Powell says,
“The Community of Practice was originally established to recognise the transferable skills that individuals with a military background bring to our industry. It aimed to promote IT Service Management as a career path and to provide support throughout members’ professional journeys.
To extend our reach and impact, we have broadened the focus of the Community of Practice to include those who are involved in, or have an interest in, Defence‑related IT Service Management. To reflect this wider scope, the community will now be known as the Defence Community of Practice.
The Defence Community of Practice is open to itSMF UK members with a military or Defence connection or interest. It provides opportunities to network, learn, and share mutual support and guidance through member‑led discussions, articles, and events.”
