Speakers

Speaker: Rory Canavan, SAM Consultant at SAM Charter

Title: Are You One Request Away From Disaster?

Synopsis: There are hardly any businesses and organisations who haven’t experienced the pain of a failed software audit, where the business has had service management teams tied up for weeks if not months at a time providing the data required to demonstrate it is compliant with its software licenses and avoid paying out six and seven figure sums to some voracious software publisher.

So how DO you make sure you’re audit ready? In this session Rory will explain how an effective and well-designed request fulfilment is absolutely critical in maintaining software licensing compliance and minimising software licensing costs for YOUR business.

Speaker: Duncan Watkins, Senior Consultant at Forrester Research

Title: Where is ITSM going? An exploration of frameworks, principles, and strategy

Synopsis: ITSM has always used guidance, frameworks and standards to define itself. Their use has always been a shorthand to develop best practice and ways of working. However, their status has slowly started to recede with the introduction of principle-based practices such as Agile, Lean, and DevOps.

In the first half of this session, we will look at the way ITSM works today, try to understand where the trends are going and how this should all build towards your IT and company strategy.

In the second half we will discuss how delegates are using guidance and how to ensure it is the best fit for your organisation.

Speaker: Matthew Burrows, Managing Director, BSMimpact

Title: What skills do you have, and what do you need?

Synopsis: In this session, Matthew will show you how to determine what skills are needed within your organisation, what you already have in place, and then how to address the gaps.  It will look at a very practical approach to doing this quickly and without huge cost – in fact so simple and practical, that you will be able to start putting it into practice as soon as you get back to the office.

Speaker: Richard Oliver, Service Management Consulant, MSL Consulting Ltd

Title: Introducing the SIAM SIG

Synopsis:  A presentation to introduce the SIAM SIG what we have been doing, what we are planning and how you can join us
