How ITSMF UK Operates

As a not-for-profit, membership owned organisation, our members are at the centre of everything we do. The volunteers from our members are key to the development and governance of all our services. In addition to our volunteers, we are extremely lucky to have an excellent and very dedicated team of permanent staff that we rely upon for the day-to-day operation of the organisation.



Our permanent team of staff includes our Company Secretary and our Chief Executive. The Chief Executive is accountable to the ITSMF UK Chair.

ITSMF UK is governed by a Management Board consisting of volunteers elected from our members and ex-officio roles from our staff team.

The ITSMF UK Management Board consists of:

  • The Chair
  • The Vice-Chair
  • Finance Director
  • Governance & Ethics Director
  • Service Development Lead
  • Service Delivery Lead
  • Member Engagement Lead
  • Commercial Lead
  • Chief Executive (Ex officio)
  • Company Secretary (Ex officio)

ITSMF UK was incorporated in November 1991. Our registered office is in Winnersh Triange, Reading, which is where our staff team is based.

ITSMF UK is registered at Companies House in the UK as:

ITSMF UK’s mission is to provide a thriving industry forum for all parties engaged in the field of IT Service Management in the UK, enabling our members to actively exchange views, share experiences and participate in the continual development, improvement and promotion of ITSM knowledge, best practice and standards.
