Recruitment is another area which can benefit massively, and is often a problem area for HR. IT Managers can use SFIA to better describe the skills and levels needed when hiring, HR can advertise the role and assess candidates more objectively using SFIA, avoiding putting forward CVs of people who don't match well. Interviews can focus on the skills and levels of skill needed, with targeted questions using SFIA to help validate the skills/levels, making it more likely the successful candidate will be a good fit and won't leave because they find out the role isn't what they thought it would be.

Absolutely agree, Matthew. Our experience is that once we have made the investment in SFIA-based role profiles, underpinned by aligned development guides this gives managers and employees the framework to have a constructive and actionable personal development discussion.
You are correct, HR like this as it makes a desired HR process possible and worthwhile.
