Business and Supplier Relationship Management is undergoing a major transition. Gone are the days where simply managing spend and finding the best deal possible within your supply base is enough or easy.

 

In the current climate there are so many factors to consider when choosing and managing a business and supplier relationship.  

 

Helen Wyse from Microsoft will look at how she and her organisation aligns to and creates benefit for their customers and Karen Brush will run an interactive session which shows us how to understand our business activities in Supplier/Vendor selection.

Parking: Great Northern Mall, 17-21 Great Victoria St, Belfast BT2 7GN. When leaving Grosvenor House collect a Car parking voucher for the Great Northern Mall Car park from the receptionist (This limits the parking to £5.00 for the day. Take the voucher and your parking ticket to the manned kiosk before returning to your car.  The attendant will collect your money and update your ticket, so you can then return to your car and exit)

Helen Wyse

Helen IT Career has spanned Public and Private Sector.  Whilst working in the Northern Ireland Civil Service (NICS) she undertook various IT roles/responsibilities including 1st, 2nd line support, systems analysis and service improvements.  Whilst working in the Dept of Agriculture she led the User Acceptance Team for their main business critical application.  Following this she joined IT Assist, the IT shared service centre for NICS and after embracing various service management roles she became responsible for their Service Management System and Processes.

Currently Helen is a Microsoft Service Delivery Manager with Microsoft Premier Support responsible for assisting organisations utilise the full benefits and realise the value of the Microsoft products and Services they invest in.  She enables this through reactive and proactive support, ensuring their Microsoft services are healthy and their IT Professionals can maintain and support these.

Presentation:  Cloud Services and Supplier Management

Synopsis: As the shift to cloud based services increases this presentation will look at how this affects Supplier Management, and how organisations need to think differently about how they partner with suppliers as roles and responsibilities change and blend.

Karen Brusch

Karen is an established Service Management Specialist with a progressive understanding of how to develop and deliver ITIL processes & capabilities across the lifecycle. She has developed a reputation within the itSMF UK community as a trusted author and presenter of Service Design & Transition issues, and lead author for the highly successful publication "Service Level Management - a practitioner’s guide"; winner of the Ashley Hanna Contributor of the Year Award 2014; Chair of the itSMF Service Level Management Special Interest Group 2009-2014

Responsible for the development, implementation and enhancement of Service Design activities, bringing specific experience on service lifecycle management, risk profiling of Business Services, managing complex supplier relationships, and developing holistic service models. Consultant to projects and BAU activities on issues relating to Service Design, and at all levels of management.

Currently Karen is a Service Design Consultant for the Nationwide Building Society responsible for the development, implementation and enhancement of Service Design activities, bringing specific experience on service lifecycle management, risk profiling of Business Services, managing complex supplier relationships, and developing holistic service models.

Presentation:  Understanding business activities in vendor selection

Synopsis: Vendor selection tends to be all about commercial, financial & business culture fit, and less so about service fit. This interactive session will explore some techniques that can be used to avoid the classic pitfalls of ending up with contracts that do not provide the required level of support. A case study will also be available to help drive the session.
