 Brian McLaughlin

 

Brian has worked in IT for nearly 20 years, over 15 of which have been as a senior manager.  He is currently the IT Service manager for BSO IT Services organisation, Health and Social Care NI (HSCNI). The primary aim of his current role is to progress and promote the implementation of the standard ITSM processes within BSO ITS and also across all HSC organizations where appropriate.

 

His qualifications include PGDip in IT Service Management, ITIL Expert accredited and a PRINCE2 Practitioner. He is currently working towards completion of the MSC in IT Service Management.

 

Presentation: “Lots of Suppliers, Lots of Systems”.  Brian’s presentation looks at how he has managed suppliers across a number of regional systems within HSCNI, the difficulties he faced and the outputs from his work

 

Steve Morgan

 

Steve specialises in the design, build and implementation of IT Service Management (ITSM) and Service Integration & Management (SIAM) solutions, helping organisations to manage complex multi-vendor support models.  He has worked in IT Service Management consulting for many years, and prides himself on his practical approach to helping IT leaders to solve operational issues.  He has hands-on experience of working in complex IT departments, where his in-depth knowledge of Service Management leading practices has helped deliver large scale IT Transformation.  Steve is Chair of ITSMF UK’s SIAM Special Interest Group.

 

Presentation: SIAM is an adaptation of ITIL that focuses on managing the delivery of services provided by multiple suppliers.

As more organisations look to SIAM as the framework by which they will support their multi-vendor eco-systems, this session will offer a practical walkthrough of the creation of a SIAM implementation programme.  It will look at the key elements to a successful programme, and the key activities to be undertaken by a SIAM provider in live operation.  This session assumes no previous knowledge of SIAM, and will include an introduction for those new to this topic.

Marion is the Business Intelligence Manager at Chain Reaction Cycles: Ireland’s leading international e-commerce business and the worlds’ largest online bike retailer.

 

Marion is also Winner of the Women in Business (WIB) "Excellence in IT" award which goes to an individual who can demonstrate the most successful and innovative use of IT within their business.

 

Presentation: Marion’s presentation is a case study on how to implement a business intelligence strategy and how she has used BI tools to enhance decision making within a commercial and highly competitive environment
