Presentation:   Implementing Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) across multiple sites and departments – The Servicedesk Journey 

 

Darren Henderson is ICT Services Manager for South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust, Martin McPeake is ICT Servicedesk and Support Manager.  Together they will tell the journey of the trust implementing VDI across various locations and departments, highlighting the benefits and a different working culture this has brought to the ICT Servicedesk.

Damien has worked in Public Sector IT for 30 years, with the bulk of this in a variety of roles in the NHS.  He is ITIL V2 and V3 qualified, and is committed to CPD, recently graduating with a M.Sc. in IT Service Management, where his dissertation looked at the application of ITSM principles outside of IT within the NHS in NI.   Currently employed by Health & Social Care Board, he has found his ITSM skills directly transferable to supporting patient facing rather than IT services, and his presentation will demonstrate just how transferable ITSM skills are.

Cathy is the president of the Chicago itSMF Local Interest Group (LIG) and the past Chair of the priSM America’s board.. Cathy has been the recipient of many IT Service Management awards including:

  • 2006 ITIL Practitioner of the Year Award

  • Co-recipient and project team member for  the 2007 ITIL Project of the Year Award

  • First US Company to move to Enterprise Change Management

  • 2012 Pink Elephant Case Study of the year 

  • 2013 itSMF USA President's Award

 

Cathy is currently a process consultant at Allstate Insurance, where she is one of the founding members of the IT Service Management and delivery lead of the IT Service Management Office.  Cathy is a sought after speaker in the IT Service Management space, and has been presenting internationally on IT Service Management implementations and proven practices since 2005.  She  has spoken at multiple itSMF Fusion Conferences, itSMF USA Local Interest Group Meetings;  Pink Elephant IT Service Management Conferences Internationally (Nevada, Mexico City, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore), and has provided ITIL 101 instruction to more than 2000 employees in Northbrook, IL,  Dallas TX, Roanoke VA, and Belfast, Strabane and Londonderry, UK.  Cathy’s presentation will look at the changing role of ITSM and how they are dealing with this in America and in particular Chicago.
