itSMF UK announces appointment of Ben Clacy as new Chief Executive

itSMF UK has announced the appointment of Ben Clacy as its new Chief Executive Officer from 1^st December 2010.

Clacy, who most recently has been the Deputy Chief Executive, has overseen the operational management of the itSMF UK since that time. Ben joined itSMF UK in July 2006, predominantly managing the Business Development of the organisation, and since 1^st May 2010 has also served as Company Secretary to itSMF International.

Chairman of itSMF UK, Barry Corless backed Clacy's appointment saying, "The Management Board took the decision to appoint from within. Ben has shown tremendous flair and aptitude during his time with us. We have given him a fantastic opportunity to realise his potential and are confident in his ability to deliver increased benefits to our members."

"This is a very exciting time to take on the role of CEO at itSMF UK," commented Ben on his appointment. "Having been through extremely tough times in the IT Service Management (ITSM) industry over the last two years, now is the time when ITSM can make a real difference to businesses. The announcement was made at the itSMF UK's 19^th Annual Conference, staged at the Novotel London West, where the organisation welcomed well in excess of 800 people to its first conference in the capital.
