Inaugural itSMFI Chapter Leadership Conference a great success

The itSMF International Board met its Chapters on Friday the 14th November 2008, at the Hilton, Warwick in the UK. Of the 53 Chapters currently chartered, 43 Chapters attended both the Annual General Meeting and Annual Chapter Meeting held over 2 1/2 days. Both meetings were preceded by the very first Chapter Leadership Conference and the UK Chapter's Annual conference.

The attendees followed a programme of workshops, presentations and fun, fraternity and fellowship all aimed at getting a greater level of understanding amongst the Chapters and a deeper understanding of how the organisation can support, develop and promote best practice on IT Service Management worldwide. Led by Sharon Taylor, the Chairman of itSMF International and her Executive Board, the Chapters made a number of resolutions aimed towards helping the Chapters to achieve a greater level of professionalism amongst IT Service Managers in their respective markets. The organisation achieved co-operation on a number of initiatives, including a unanimous desire to become a key publisher of ITIL and other IT Service Management related books.

Sharon Taylor said; "I am absolutely delighted to have been able to host the very first Chapter Leadership Conference, and to have done so with so many Chapters in attendance is fantastic. I am grateful to not only those individuals who organised it for us but also the Chapters themselves for their continued support and encouragement. We really are becoming a force to be reckoned with!"
