itSMF UK announces its new Membership Structure
itSMF prides itself in delivering a positive and beneficial set of benefits and services to its membership. Over the last 12 months itSMF UK have been carrying out research to find out how they can improve the services that are offered to its members to enable you, your employees and your business get more out of the membership.
itSMF UK have designed a new structure for membership that will enable all current and future members to gain added value at the level of membership they require. The services offered and the additional benefits gained from these changes will increase as a result and for those members who hold membership with more than one Chapter of the itSMF movement, will find that the new structure will bring parity. All current members will continue to receive the excellent services provided as they do under the current membership structure.
With this in mind, the UK's new membership structure came into effect on 1st October 2008.
To simplify the structure itSMF UK are looking to reduce this profusion of membership categories whilst at the same time increasing the added value you will get. Membership in future will be based on users rather than what type of organisation your employer is, which is up until recently normally either been classified as a corporate member or vendor member.
In future, all members will pay an annual base cost for membership of itSMF UK £250. This base cost essentially allows the organisation access to membership and registers the organisation as a member for the tenure of the membership period of one year. Thereafter, the organisation can select the number of individuals they wish to receive itSMF UK's benefits through one of the following user packages. We believe this allows the organisation to flex its requirements according to its needs. The user packages available to organisations are classified as follows;
Individual and Sole Traders will pay a base rate of £100.00.
Up to 5 users-£150
Up to 10 users-£250
Up to 50 users-£650
Up to 100 users-£1100
Up to 200 users-£2000
Up to 300 users-£2750
300 + -Price on application
So, to confirm and by way of illustration, each membership organisation will pay the base £250 plus their selected user package. For example a current Corporate-50 member (and vendor-50 member) would pay £250 + £650 = £900. (all prices exclusive of VAT)
In addition to this you will be able to purchase a "marketing package" which will enable you to promote your organisation to the target database should you require to do so. Details of this promotional package will be made available in due course.
