Review of itSMF & BCS Joint Conference

On 8th and 9th July our joint conference with BCS took place at the Olympia Conference Centre. The event, designed as an open forum, brought together world class experts both vendors and practitioners, focused on sharing CMDB/CMS (Configuration Management Database / Configuration Management System) experiences and knowledge.

The agenda for the two days was full of activity, with four separate areas covering six streams. Included was a innovative interactive room which allowed decision support tools to create dynamic interaction and rich brainstorming amongst attendees and covered subjects such as; what is the CMDB/CMS all for?, how do you populate your CMDB?, and CMS barriers and critical success factors.

There was also an exhibition area which focused on companies which offer services to aid an easy transition through the complexity of CMDB. Exhibitors included: CollabNet, MKS, Tideway Systems and Serena Software.

Feedback from the conference was overall very positive with a high percentage rating the conference streams as exceeding expectations. Also some good suggestions came through such as a social event being planned into the two days and presentations being provided on memory sticks. The feedback is instrumental in us providing members with what you want and we will endeavor to implement suggestions and improvements received. If you would like to send in any further comments please e-mail: Katie Murphy, Events Manager: katie.murphy@itsmf.co.uk.

Thank you to all who made this event so successful including our sponsors: Axios Systems,Collabnet, BT Basilica, BT Lynx, Hornbill, Managed Objects, MKS, Telelogic, Tideway and Serena.
