CALL FOR PAPERS
The CMDB and CMS - the Powerhouse of Service Management
Olympia Conference Centre, London
8 & 9 July 2008
The Conference, jointly run by the British Computer Society Configuration Management Specialist Group (BCS CMSG) and the IT Service Management Forum (itSMF) will be held on 8 & 9 July 2008 at Olympia, London.
The main Conference objectives are to gain knowledge on the way successful organisations are implementing their CMDB/CMS (Configuration Management Database / Configuration Management System) and understand the benefits that can be achieved. The Conference will bring managers and practitioners working across the service lifecycle (which incorporates the application lifecycle) together in an open forum.
We are looking for presentations by world leaders in this field, vendors and practitioners to cover a wide variety of topics and encourage the cross fertilisation of ideas between practitioners, vendors and users of the CMDB/CMS solutions and tools.
Interactive sessions
The Conference will contain workshops using Decision Support tools that guarantee dynamic interaction, rich brainstorming and better discussion between users, practitioners and the vendor community. The knowledge gained from the workshops will create a shared understanding of today's challenges, industry and vendor strategies to cope with these challenges and future needs. These sessions should cover these topics:-
What exactly are the requirements for a CMDB/CMS?
What do IT organisations and users need from a CMDB/CMS?
Where next? - vendor and user perspectives
Vendor's visions and strategies in developing CMS solutions
Improving the requirements definition and Invitation to tenders when selecting a CMDB/CMS solution?
Organisation and cultural challenges in sharing information and collaborating across the world - how does this impact the requirements and implementation?
Benefits for organisations, practitioners and users of the CMDB/CMS
For users and practitioners the Conference and workshops should provide a unique opportunity to get the inside track on how to approach your CMDB/CMS implementation and develop your existing solution.
Benefits for Vendors
The Conference will provide a unique opportunity for vendors to truly understand what practitioners and users want in an independent, interactive forum. To help you to improve your focus and ultimately market share.
