About the Presentation

Leeds City Council has implemented an ICT People and Culture agenda including the SFIA 4 skills framework across 340 + ICT staff. This has resulted in significant gains in staff satisfaction, motivation and also customer satisfaction with the ICT service. Leeds ICT have identified that the most important asset in the organisation are its people and continually develop staff in diverse ways. The focus on staff development is driving organisational performance at a time when the Operational Efficiencies Programme is focusing heavily on benchmarking performance. Numerous other public sector organisations are taking advantage of the Leeds approach to staff development. The presentation provides an in depth understanding of how Leeds ICT is doing this.

About the Speaker

Joanne Miklo is the Resources Manager for the ICT Division of Leeds City Council.  Joanne was the implementation lead for ICT Professionalism within the organisation, focussing on organisational culture change and staff development.  Joanne has a finance background and believes that an having the right people with the right skills who are motivated to achieve common outcomes will help drive out efficiencies across an organisation.  Joanne has been involved with Aspire from its conception and has facilitated it  from software development  through to brand implementation.  Joanne has presented at many public sector forums on the Leeds City Council approach to implementing ICT Professionalism.
