Continuous Organisational Transformation

Title: Continuous Organisational Transformation
Topic/Stream: Interactive
Presentation Synopsis: Changing the way that a business works is often required to gain competitive advantage, or to support implementations of new ways of working such as implementing and changing IT service management processes.

In today’s changing and challenging world, survival stems from undertaking rapid, relentless change. Many organisations fail to implement this type of change successfully: 70% of initiatives fail or achieve only limited success. One reason for this limited success is that, fundamentally, organisations are not designed for this continuous change. Moreover, existing practices explicitly encourage pursuit of stability and equilibrium

Research suggests that a technique of “continuous morphing” can help organisations reconcile the struggles of continuous change. This presentation will help you understand what this technique is, how you could use it to transform the resource patterns of people, processes and technology, and how managing resource interdependencies can enable rapid evolution.

The session is aimed at experienced practioners, managers and suppliers who want to learn how to transform operational capability beyond the typical headcount shuffles or technology implementations, how to address organisational design issues, and how to flex when operating models have to change to support wider business strategies
Speaker/Organisation: Heather Stebbings
Session Date: Tuesday, 09 November at 12:00
Speaker Biography: Heather was once introduced to this forum as "someone who does stuff" - and still is!

Heather is a pragmatic business process redesign and business change management specialist with 20+ years experience contributing to client organisation performance. Most of this has been spent rescuing profitability, troubleshooting operational capability, and providing advisory services in restructuring. She has worked with a wide range of clients including Systems Integrators, Financial Services organisations in retail and investment banking, Government and privatised public sector institutions across UK and Europe.

Her favourite problem solving areas include Operational Restructuring, IT Service Management, Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery, Organisational Cost Transformation, and Risk Management.

The relentless pursuit of "why" and "how" help Heather solve the complex business problems faced by many organisations – believing that elastoplast solutions are just that: root cause is a much bigger challenge.
