Change Management, a voyage of discovery

Title: Change Management, a voyage of discovery
Topic/Stream: Lessons Learned
Presentation Synopsis: The UK Land Registry touches everyone’s life in the UK and Ireland, whether you’re buying a house, performing a boundary search or looking for an old deed. With over 3 millions homes on their register that’s a lot of work and people to keep happy. Over the past few years major service improvement programs have been implemented, which include online web access to make finding and requesting the information you need even faster and easier.
Speaker/Organisation: Mal Young
Organisation: UK Land Registry
Session Date: Monday, 08 November at 11:50
Speaker Biography: Mal Young is the Senior Change Manager at the UK Land Registry since 2002. He was brought in from the fast-paced world of blue chip to review, rationalise and embed a working change management culture that would equip Land Registry for its e-future. Changing a deeply rooted civil service culture was not easy. His success is witnessed by last year’s change metric: 4399 changes implemented, 99.33% success with only 20 failed, most of which were at test stage without impact to service delivery. Integral to his management strategy are distinctive presentations, proactive knowledge transfer and unswerving passion in search of excellence.
