Biography

Description of Role and Responsibilities:

One of the main responsibilities in my role is managing the features, articles and adverts for

e-ServiceTalk and ServiceTalk the Journal. This involves requesting, chasing and proofing articles from members and non-members. I promote the advertisement space with both publications and am responsible for selling, invoicing, and chasing the copy. Both publications involve a lot of communication; liaising with editorial and design staff plus our members.

I am also the contact point for direct mail for vendor members for distribution via our mailing house. Printed seminar brochures also come under my remit and I work closely with the Events Team on this. I am responsible for choosing and ordering promotional collateral such as branded pens as well as unique giveaways for special events. In April I am attending my first external event; I was responsible for choosing our stand design and organised all the necessary paperwork for the stand and itSMF UK attendees.

Average Day:

I normally have a few emails that need attention when I arrive in the morning  often queries about advertising. I spend the morning catching up on the administration of e-ServiceTalk and ServiceTalk keeping in touch with all the different people involved. The afternoon is more varied and may involve going through designs for new promotional products, proof-reading articles and one of my current tasks is writing the process documents for producing e-ServiceTalk.

What do you enjoy most?

I really enjoy the variety of my role, everyday is different, and I am excited about attending my first events in April at the Southampton Service Level Management Seminar and the Service Desk and IT Support Show in London.
