Biography

Description of Role and Responsibilities:

I have the pleasure of looking after the Business Development side of the business. This basically means I have two main objectives – attracting new members and delivering new services to our members. My teams are responsible for a variety of different routes to developing our membership including marketing, PR, web services, new business development, external exhibitions, and harnessing Service Management expertise from our membership.

This is a fairly broad ranging remit and a challenging and exciting one in the market at the moment. IT Service Management is on the rise and I'm very keen to ensure that we continue to serve our members in the best ways possible.

Average Day:

My days are very varied and part of the joy of this job is that no two days are the same. I spend a lot of time out of the office either at member events that we are running or presenting at industry events. I spend time meeting our members, our potential members and other organisations that we are, or would like to be, working with to try and develop new ways of attracting people to use the services we offer.

Trying to keep in tune with the IT Service Management industry is a big part of this job so I need to make sure I'm in touch with as many people within it as possible.

What do you enjoy most?

This job is all about people, whether that's itSMF members, the potential members, our partners or the teams I look after. Dealing with people and giving top quality customer service is what has always driven me so this job is just about perfect!
